Georgia grew up in Newport Beach, California the daughter of artists. She and her husband, Dennis, later settled on the Florida coast where they raised their five daughters. The shores and the casual lifestyle of the beach towns inspire many of her oil paintings.
Her goal in painting is to bring a sense of calm to the viewer. To attain her purpose, Georgia works together a soothing composition, a natural color scheme, and a realistic style, using people and places and things she loves as the subject. She believes that artists always reveal something of themselves in their work, so she seeks to find something beautiful within – to bring to the canvas. Her hope is to transport the viewer into a peaceful world.
Dennis and Georgia have traveled all over the world to places as diverse as South Sudan, Nicaragua and South Korea. While he is teaching in Bible colleges or churches she paints murals and teaches children or women’s groups. For women’s ministries and retreats she paints while sharing her story: Our Lives, God’s Canvas.
With each original painting Georgia sells she gives a card with the words: peaceful, calm, serene oil paintings and “My greatest teacher is the Creator Himself, from who I receive both my inspiration and my ability.”
