Anne has been a professional artist for over 30 years. It all started when she was a child living in Thailand. Her father was an avid art collector and her mother was a born crafter. She could make works of art out of recycling materials long before recycled art was a big hit. Often, her father brought home paintings he bought from local artists. Many times, he invited these artists to dinner, and I became fascinated with their personalities and creations. Even though my siblings also had some kind of artistic talent, Anne was the only one to pursue an art career.
Anne studied many years in art schools, starting with the Academy of Art in San Francisco, then the Art Institute of Denver, Colorado and finally the Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado. She also attended many workshop with several artists, like George Coll, Jordan Wolfson and Lani Vlaanderen, just to name a few. Anne worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for many years. She also participated in several public art programs and many commissioned works. All these things she did over the years was fun and rewarding, but her true passion has always been painting.
For the past 20 years, painting is the first thing she does every morning. She usually gets up around 3 or 4 a.m., turn on some background music, and starts painting. Anne paints everything around her, from the beautiful places she visited around the world to the vegetables and flowers in her garden. Everything makes it onto her canvas including the animals, the food that she ate, or even unwanted objects people threw away.
Anne wants to share her paintings with everyone because she believes that art can illuminate our lives and enrich our world.
